Bookstore
The Bookstore, located on the ground floor of the Jean Patrice Harrington, SC, Student Center, is managed by Follett Higher Education Group. The Bookstore handles the sale of textbooks, supplementary readings, school and art supplies, candy and snacks, sundries, clothing, greeting cards, stationery, and gifts.
Learning Center
The Learning Center enhances the ability of every motivated student to succeed in his or her studies. It provides a number of academics resources including: the Math Center, the Writing Center, peer tutoring, and more. The Learning Center is located in room 156 in the The Thrailkill Hall of Student Success.
Academic Advising
Academic advising is available for all degree-seeking students. Before registering for class, traditional students must meet with their advisors, who provide guidance on class choices, career aspirations, and registration clearance. Non-traditional students are encouraged to meet with or talk to an advisor before registering for courses.
Academic Exploration Program
The Academic Exploration Program allows students to use academic and occupational assessment results to help them select a major and possible career. The program also offers career counseling, skill-building workshops, and occupational information resources.
Health Professions Advising
Through Health Professions Advising, students work with their normal academic advisors and faculty members on the Health Professions Advisory Committee to design a course of study that is suited to their specific, healthcare-oriented career goals.
Library
At Archbishop Alter Library, you’ll find all of the academic resources you need for your assignments. The library is a member of OhioLINK, which provides online access to over 24 million journal articles from 100+ research databases, as well as the ability to request items (including some textbooks) from a combined collection of over 46 million books. The library also provides additional interlibrary loan service, which can supply articles, books, and other items not available through OhioLINK or the library’s digital collections. In an age of steadily increasing textbook prices, the library is devoted to textbook affordability. Students can borrow textbooks on a limited basis from the library’s course reserve collection, which has many of the materials most commonly assigned in Mount courses. Further, the library provides ebook access to some of these textbooks. If students need help finding resources for their assignments, they can schedule a research consultation with a librarian.
Wellness Center
The Wellness Center is open to all students and offers assistance in maintaining students’ health. They provide counseling services for individual, relationship, and other types of counseling, as well as services for physical healthcare, including a full-time registered nurse, full-time medical assistant, and physician by appointment.
The Office of Diversity and Inclusion
The Office of Diversity and Inclusion is committed to building a campus environment that values and respects every person, regardless of gender, age, race, sexual preference, cultural background, religion, nationality or beliefs. They sponsor various campus-wide programs centered on ethnic celebrations, holidays, and diversity awareness and address specific needs or concerns of cultural groups represented at the Mount.
Childcare
The Children’s Center provides quality part-time and full day care for children of Mount students while they are attending class, studying, or participating in class-related activities off campus such as clinical, field placement, or student teaching. Care is available for children ages three months to five years.
Career Center
The Career and Experiential Learning Center offers services that enable students to prepare for and succeed in their chosen career field. By sponsoring resume workshops, career fairs, career wear closet, and personal assistance, the Career Center can help students succeed.
Service Learning
Service Learning is available to all students – graduate and undergraduate – and enables students to engage and volunteer with local organizations while completing class credit. Students learn about human rights and social justice, diversity and inclusion, and the impact that an organization has on a community.
