Mount St. Joseph University has admission counselors who work specifically with adult students every step of the way. Our convenient programs include online, night, and weekend courses that allow you to prepare for a better future even with a family and a career.
Note: The Office of Admission will not process undergraduate applications the week before classes start.
Students admitted by the deadline date, who want to register for classes the week before school starts, must already have their financial aid determined.
Application
Adult and Adult Transfer Applicants must submit the following as part of the application process:
- An application for admission, along with the $25 application fee (application fee is non-refundable and does not apply toward college expenses).
- Students interested in completing a paper application may download a printable PDF version and submit it through the mail. Print applications should be mailed with the $25 application fee to:

Official College Transcript
Transfer applicants must submit official college transcripts from all schools attended.

Official High School Transcript or GED Certificate
An official high school transcript/or GED is needed if an applicant meets one or more of the following:
- Applicant has never attended college
- Applicant has less than 12 semester hours of transferrable credit
- Applicant’s previous college credit is from a non-regionally accredited institution.

Assessment Test
Applicants who meet one of the following situations below will need to take the full Accuplacer Assessment for further admission consideration.
- Applicant has never attended college
- Applicant has less than 12 semester hours of transferrable credit
- Applicant’s previous college credit is from a non-regionally accredited institution.
Contact the Learning Center to set up your Accuplacer Assessment. Testing sections cover math, reading and writing. Reading and writing are evaluated for admission purposes. Your admission counselor will contact you with your results and next steps.
*Transfer credit will be evaluated to determine if the Assessment is required for course placement.
Admission Standards
Applicants who meet a cumulative 2.0 or higher transfer GPA, from a regionally accredited college/university, and has 12+ semester hours of transferrable credit is normally admitted into the university in good academic standing. *Some majors may have separate admission standards.
Applicants who have submitted an official high school transcript, have less than 12 semester hours of transferable credit (or who have never attended college), and meets acceptable Accuplacer scores in reading and writing are normally admitted into the university in good academic standing. *Some majors may have separate admission standards.

U.S. permanent residents must submit a copy of their permanent resident ID (green card).
